That's my fierce little warrior.
Doesn't everyone walk around with binoculars, a baby doll, and a sword tucked in your back shirt while making soup in your helmet?
Trying to frugally raise 4 children, 2 cats, 6 rabbits, and a flock of chickens. No labels, just an attempt at common sense parenting.

I Love Yoga
It has been six
months since my first yoga class. I can't tell you how much has changed for me
in my mind and body. This might sound silly, but inside my brain is so much
calmer. I can feel myself getting stronger. Things a few months ago I thought I
would never be able to do I am beginning do. And that painful, annoying carpal
tunnel I've had in my wrist since my banking days? It's almost gone and I can
move my wrist again! When I first started it was all I could do to get the
poses, now I'm trying to add the "extra" and if I can't get it I
practice it at home. I really can't express what a big deal that is. Me?
Enjoying something physical? AND voluntarily doing it on my own time? I am
proud of myself and motivated to keep up my practice. Not to mention, my kids
enjoy it and we can do it together. Win!

Lovely Day
It's been a good
morning even though they got me up early. We snuggled and watched cartoons, ate
breakfast, did yoga together, did schoolwork, I fed the animals while the big
kids played backgammon and then we had cheese and crackers and hummus for
lunch. Now everyone is napping/having quiet time and it's so quiet! It's been a
perfect rainy day - knock on wood! And
I have a wonderful view of the beautiful roses my husband brought me yesterday.
He said it was just because he loves and appreciates me. My husband is awesome!

Halloween 2015
This is Fiona's
first time trick or treating - she is so excited!
Fiona was a fairy, Chandler was Optimus Prime
and Claire was a witch. Declan and I
stayed home and gave out candy while Daddy took them around the neighborhood.
The kids
came home with so much candy! The decision this year was they could eat all
they want tonight and then the rest goes in the garbage. They went for it! Usually we do 2
pieces each day and it drives me crazy. I just want to get it over with. They
didn't actually eat very much at all.
Not sure if the funniest part was Claire frantically eating for about 10
minutes, then staring at a half eaten candy bar with a pale face saying,
"I think I feel a little sick..." (She was okay after a glass of
water) or Fiona trying to shove 3 lollipops in her mouth at once!
