We love our county fair. It's an old school agriculture fair with no rides - yes, you heard me right. But so much fun!
Our homeschool co-op's educational booth got first place! The kids were very excited.
The theme was "Celebrate and Educate". The silhouettes of moms are celebrating in the back and the children's pictures are are attached to fall vegetables as our "harvest". My little bowl of potatoes. :)
And as tradition demands we went to Dairy Queen after the fair!
Trying to frugally raise 4 children, 2 cats, 6 rabbits, and a flock of chickens. No labels, just an attempt at common sense parenting.

County Fair
September means the County Fair! It's one of our favorites things to do as a family and we never miss it. Sometimes, like this year we go more then once!
There was a tent set up with games for the little ones.
Chandler got to be a cowboy!
My beautiful Claire
Talking about fire safety with the firefighters.
Goats!
Back at the Fair with Daddy!
Fiona liked the animals!
She was fascinated with the cows.
The kids were excited to show Daddy their booth.
My babies got to ride around in style.
In front of the barn
All of my babies and me!
Declan slept through the Fair.
We grabbed Dairy Queen after the Fair.
Happy kids!
Fiona was so excited for the ice cream!
And now he's awake! ;)

The Fair! And Chickens!
Crazy days! Sorry I haven't been around more!
Last month was our county fair - one of the last purely agricultural fairs in the country. Fun was had by all and this year our homeschool co-op got to decorate a booth! We had lots of fun and I think it turned out great!
The chickens were outgrowing their little washing machine box and we had to upgrade them to a refrigerator box. They were very happy to have the space and kept running back and forth once we put them in there!
Daddy has made great progress on the coop. It's 95% done now! I will update once I download more pictures. Promise!

The theme was "Home Grown Goodness" - I think that is the definition of homeschoolers!
Each family decorated a plant with our "Home Grown Kids" - this one is Claire and Chandler!
Claire
Little wannabe farm kids
They LOVED petting the horse!

No more room!
After some creativity to make it closed in. Have you ever tried to get out of a refrigerator box while pregnant? That was interesting!
5 minutes without food equals starvation at this age! ;) But they loved their new little roosting branch.
The coop at that point.
