... the house falls apart.
It's been a really, really hard week.
Thursday afternoon I realized Fiona was running a slight fever. It was all down hill from there. In short succession Claire went down, then Declan, then Nicholas (thankfully on the weekend). I was feeling lousy, but that could have been from not sleeping and running around taking care of whiny babies and cleaning up sickness. Chandler held out the longest, but went down on Sunday.
I spent most of the week holding the babies because every time I tried to walk 10 inches away from Fiona she started sobbing, "No Mama! I want you Mama!". It got very old, and my back was killing me, but that's what they needed.
Today is the first day that I can see the end is in sight. Fiona is still whiny, Chandler is being lazy and Declan is fussy, but I can see the change. Someday soon I will get to leave the house! This morning I looked up from my fog of nursing all these sick people to realize that my house is a disaster! I mean filthy. The kitchen is a wreck, the bathroom is gross and the living room is a mess. It's going to take me a week to recover from all this!
Trying to frugally raise 4 children, 2 cats, 6 rabbits, and a flock of chickens. No labels, just an attempt at common sense parenting.

Blessings in the Bad
One by one my entire family has had a stomach bug this week. Ick!
On Monday night/Tuesday Nicholas and Declan were throwing up and down for the count. So pathetic for a little 6 month old! Poor Nicholas just spent most of the day on the floor with the chills.
The next day Chandler said his stomach hurt and he just laid around most of the day but thankfully did not get too sick. That same day Fiona slept WAY more then normal. She woke up her normal time, but then fell asleep on Mom's bed for several hours. She then had a normal/longish nap and crashed right before bedtime.
On Wednesday night after going to bed Claire came down and told us she had thrown up - in between her bed and night table. Did I mention we have strawberry shortcake for dessert that night? Nasty mess. She continued to throw up several times before I went to bed. Then I woke up in the middle of the night with whole body shuddering chills and promptly lost it. Joy.
But I have to say I have an amazing husband. Due to snow he was working at the workshop which is only about a 1/2 mile from home. He went to work late because he got everyone together and fed in the morning for me while I laid on the couch pathetically. Then he came home at lunch and fed everyone and put Fiona down for her nap. After work he put Declan in the carrier and washed dishes, cleaned up Fiona's messes and fed dinner.
I am blessed to have such a wonderful man.

Ways I Know My Daughter is Sick
1. At lunch time I ask her what she wants to eat and she says "Nothing".
2. Instead of eating she disappears and I find her laying on my bed sound asleep.
3. After sleeping she comes out and sits in the recliner and just stares into space.
4. When I tell her that she can have the treat of watching Netflix in the middle of the day she gets up, turns the TV on, sits on the couch and just stares instead of picking a show.
5. When her brother steals her sock off her foot to get her attention she just lays there.
Yep. Claire is really sick.

Quarantine Me!
I am drowning in sick people! Daddy is really sick. He is the type to tough out any illness. I practically have to sit on him to get him to rest. But he has spent the last 4 days laying on the couch - that is SICK. We went to the Urgent Care today and I spent 3 hours in the waiting room with the kids for the doctor to tell him that he doesn't have the flu, he's just really, really sick. Isn't that helpful? They gave him an antibiotic shot and some heavy duty antibiotic pills. Here's praying they work!
Oh, and both the kids have a sinus, coughing thing.
I CANNOT get sick right now!! I am 36 weeks pregnant! And it's Christmas time! I have so much to get the house ready for the baby and the holidays and not enough time. Next week I have a full schedule and I really can't miss anything.
Monday: Two appointments and the homeschool co-op informational/planning meeting
Tuesday: Physical therapy (apparently the baby is making my pelvis go out of place and it's causing me a lot of pain!)
Wednesday: Work on the house!!
Thursday: Co-op Christmas Party and Bible Study in the evening (they are throwing me a little "sprinkle" - isn't that sweet??)
Friday: My Growth Ultrasound! So excited!
Ugh. And I need to wash all the baby clothes, clean the carseat (that a dear friend passed down), pack the hospital bag, bake Christmas cookies, get the final four boxes unpacked so they are not in the way and go Christmas shopping! And that's just the urgent stuff on my list ....

June - a month of sickness and moments of fun
I have been a bad blogger lately. Though to be honest everything has slipped to the side this month. Morning sickness (i.e. every hour of the day and night sickness) has been killing me. I had to go to the doctor because I was so lightheaded and we found my blood sugar was much too low. So I had to choke down food every hour. Bleck. I was hating food. Everything tasted awful and the thought of any type of food just turned my stomach. I couldn't even step into the kitchen because the smell of food was horrific. I have been so blessed to have my mother living with us right now. I don't know how else we all would have survived. I spent most of the month of June laying on the couch or floor. Thankfully I am at 13 weeks now and most of the sickness is wearing off. I still have moments, especially first thing in the morning and bad days, but it's easing. I mainly have a stupid overactive nose right now. I smell awful odors that no one else can sense. Very frustrating!
I did suck it up enough to throw Claire's 6th birthday party. Yes, my baby girl is six! We planned on a outside picnic, but woke up to rain so we had to have a quick location substitution to my Grandmother's house. But it turned out to be a great day.
Last week we got to enjoy Claire's late birthday present when my grandmother, Claire and I went out to the theater for an evening to see Peter Pan. What fun! Our local theater troupe did a wonderful job and we all really enjoyed it. The best part was that we got to talk and take pictures with all the actors in the lobby after the show.

| Claire requested Roast Chicken and Cranberry Sauce for her birthday. ;) We rounded it out with cole slaw, potato salad and pasta salad. |

| Claire said her favorite part was the mermaids. And they weren't even nice mermaids in the play! She was thrilled to meet one. |

Make it go away!
It has now been over a week of sick people in this house. Last Tuesday I canceled Little Man's speech therapy because he wasn't feeling well, then I had to cancel the next Tuesday's as well. It is now the following Thursday and he, The Girl, Daddy and I are all still dealing with stuffed and draining sinus' and trying not to hack up a lung. I am so tired of coughing, but there is nothing worse then hearing your little boy laying in his crib coughing and coughing through the night. I am so ready for this illness to move on!
